Toys for Double Bassists
Make your choice: our pickup testing bass
Some double bass pickups are easy to test on your own bass - e. g. pickups that get mounted under the bridge foot. But other pickup models need alterations to the bridge or pickup to get mounted. In order to give our customers an idea of these pickup’s sound and character, we’ve installed them to one of our showroom basses.
New items
The K+M stool lends the right support for your back every time you play. The ergonomically shaped seat will perceptibly relieve pressure on your back and prevent premature tiredness. The stool can be folded flat for transport.
The Tech21 Para Driver DI is a preamp+DI-box and can be used either direct to a mixing console or with an instrument amplifier. The SansAmp circuitry eliminates the harsh, unnatural harmonics of piezo pickups, while the Drive control offers some tasteful edge.
We now offer a selection high quality instrument cables, made by German manufacturer Sommer.
With our smart pickup mounting clamp, the pickup’s jack is mounted (and detached) to the tailpiece in seconds. The clamp is made of black plastic and has virtually no weight. Available for 1/2" and XLR jacks.
We now include this clamp to all our pickups.
Events
After the great success of BASS 2008 in Paris, the international double bass convention BASS 2010 will take place at Berlin this coming ocotber.
Internationally reknowned professors, double bass soloists, publishers, instrument, string and bow makers will present themselves. Moreover, there will be competitions and workshops for all age groups. And, of course, you will be able to exchange and mingle with other double bass fans from Europe and all over the world.
Of course, we will be there, too, and will be happy to meet you there!

The removable neck
Travelling with the bass is always a challenge. In particular air travels are getting more and more restricted and expensive for double bassists who want to take their instrument aboard.
To make travelling with the bass more easy, Christopher has developped a double bass with removable neck. As the makers of the Eminence bass, Christopher has much experience in making portable basses with removable neck. Due to the steel dovetail joint, the neck is removed and assembled within a few minutes.
